Search Engine Optimisation – Frequently Asked Questions
Search Engine Optimisation can be confusing and overwhelming for someone unfamiliar with the workings of search engines (Google, Bing, Yahoo). Often, this vulnerability is exploited and can be costly for businesses believing they need to pay to get great ranking and results. I hope I can dispel some of the myths around SEO and show you that you can get great Google results without needing to pay for adwords.
Why is SEO so important? It is what makes your website get a good result from search queries. At minimum, 75% of clicks go to the first page of search results.

SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) is what will get your website ranking on Google. There is a lot of confusion around SEO and many companies charge a monthly fee to keep your site ranking, when the reality is…a good web designer will optimise your site during the construction phase without the need for ongoing charges.
Your website needs to feature in the first page of Google…why? At minimum, 75% of clicks go to the first page of search results. So if your page is two, three or four deep for your keyword/s, you’re not going to get the click through to your site that you need.
Tip: Don’t be fooled by so-called SEO experts who are chasing a monthly investment from you. If your site doesn’t rank on Google, you need to have your website audited to get it sorted…this does NOT mean you have to pay a monthly ongoing charge.
Google My Business is an essential tool for local SEO, and local SEO is an essential strategy to propel sales from local customers. Local SEO is where search engine optimisation is focused within specific geographic regions, with a goal to acquire, service and retain customers.
In a nutshell, it boosts your ranking and results and it’s FREE, it gives you invaluable insights into your online visibility and search engine results, and obviously Google loves you for it!

Doing your homework to research your keywords is important to help you drill down into the exact words and phrases (search queries) that customers type into the search box. There are loads of apps to help you with your keyword research…Google autocomplete (at the bottom of Google page) shows key phrases that are trending. Moz keyword explorer is another amazing tool.
